What is Spiritual Direction?
In spiritual direction, a seeker meets with a trained companion/director who listens deeply as they navigate the seeker’s spiritual journey. Together, they notice and explore the presence of the Sacred in the seeker’s daily life, discuss questions of meaning and purpose, and nurture spiritual growth through contemplative conversation.
This sacred companionship creates a safe space for deep listening and discernment, allowing seekers to explore their relationship with the Divine in an authentic way.
The spiritual director serves as a compassionate witness who helps to illuminate patterns, insights, and movements of the Sacred in the seeker's life. Through this contemplative practice, we discover renewed clarity, meaning, and connection to your spiritual path.
A meeting for spiritual direction will usually take about 45-50 minutes, and can take place either via videocall, or in person. Usually, these meetings are ongoing, and take place every other week or once a month, depending on current needs of the seeker.
If you’re looking for someone to walk beside you and support you as you navigate your spiritual journey, I would love to talk with you more.
I am currently enrolled in the Spiritual Direction Certification program with Cherry Hill Seminary. During the second year of the program we work with three people, for free, as a practicum.
If you are interested in doing spiritual direction work with me, you can book a free 30 minute introductory appointment. We’ll talk about what you’re hoping for from spiritual direction, and how I might best support you in your journey.
